Your files never leave your computer
This isn’t a policy promise — it’s how the product is built. Here’s exactly what we do and don’t collect.

Your documents
The free converter runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your PDF is read from your disk, converted in memory, and saved back to your computer as a .docx. We never receive the file, its name, or its contents — there is no upload endpoint for documents. The desktop app works the same way, fully offline.
What we do collect
- Anonymous conversion events. When a conversion finishes we record that it happened: success or failure, page count, how long it took, and warning codes (for example “looks like a scan”). No file names, no content, no identifiers.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics and PostHog to count page views and understand which pages are useful. These see the pages you visit, not your documents.
- Purchases. If you buy the desktop app, Stripe processes the payment. We store your email address, the Stripe session/payment reference and your license key so we can re-send it and handle refunds. We never see your card details.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist we store your email address and use it once, to tell you the desktop app has launched.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses for security and rate limiting.
License emails are sent through Amazon SES. We don’t send newsletters and don’t sell or share your email address.
Your choices
To have your purchase or waitlist record deleted, email us from the address you used. Deleting a purchase record doesn’t deactivate a license you already have — keys are verified offline.
